Highbush Cranberry (Viburnum trilobum)

Uses: wildlife, ornamental

Habitat: Sand, loam. Moist to dry, full sun to partial shade. Salt sensitive. Resistant to drought, soil compaction and flooding.
Notes: Red fruit, red-purple fall color, salt sensitive, preferred deer browse.

Native shrub that is found along streams, in open or lightly shaded swamps and wet ground. Easily transplanted and is an excellent source of food for wildlife. Has white showy blossoms in spring and clumps of red berries in fall and winter. Red fall color. Often used in erosion control or in riparian areas, stream banks and floodplains.
