Habitat: Grows best in partial shade but needs full sunlight to reach the forest canopy. Prefers moist sandy loam soils, but will grow on a variety of sites. Very sensitive to salt, heat and drought.
Notes: Salt and juglone sensitive, preferred deer browse.

White Pine is tall and straight stemmed. The long, flexible needles occur in clusters of five. White Pine is a good nesting tree for birds and provides winter cover for birds and mammals. Used for timber, wildlife, windbreaks, and landscaping. Occasionally browsed by deer.
